Anchor Point Church's Children’s Ministry provides a safe, fun, and enriching environment for your child to experience God in a real and exciting way.
Children’s Church is offered for babies to 5th grade (ages 1 to12 years old) during Sunday Service. Kids are divided into two age groups in separate classrooms to be best connect at age-appropriate levels.
What To Expect
Attendance
All ages of children are welcome to join the congregation in worship, prayer, and the sermon. Parents also have the option to bring their child(ren) to the specific age group classroom assigned following worship, prior to the sermon. We have two classrooms available: the "Youngers" group age range is babies to 1st grade (1 to 7 years old) and the "Olders" group age range is 1st to 5th grade (7 to 12 years old).
Check-In / Safety
Our volunteer teachers and helpers go through a background check prior to being assigned to the classroom. A teacher and helper will be available at our Children's Church check-in table, located next to the entrance of the auditorium, every Sunday prior to the start of service to greet families and enter each child's name into our online attendance system. Each child will receive a printed name tag with an assigned parent pick-up number. All children in the same family will be assigned the same number, which will be printed on a separate ticket for the parent to show teachers or helpers at pick-up. Classroom doors are locked during instruction time.
Schedule
Class time lasts between 30 minutes to one hour, depending on the length church service. The first five to ten minutes are a connection / playtime to acclimate all children, teachers, and helpers. Snack time and listening to the day's bible passage read aloud will follow for another five to ten minutes. Themed weekly instruction will take place for the remainer of class time until parent pick-up with their assigned number ticket following church service.
Curriculum
A weekly lesson is prepared following instruction guidelines from a bible-based curriculum that features themed skits, memory verses, games, storytelling, and prayer. Teachers offer additional instruction with videos, props, and crafts to further engage children in each week's themed lesson!
